Understand where your Stripe money went.
Customer payments, processing fees and refunds can make your Stripe records hard to follow. Ledger Check breaks down those movements, highlights items to review and helps you prepare records for your bookkeeper.
For business owners and bookkeepers who already use Stripe. Start with the free file checker, or connect your Stripe account for paid imports and accounting exports.
A $100 sale does not always leave you with $100.
Imagine a customer pays $100, Stripe deducts a $3.20 fee, and you later refund the full $100 without a fee refund. Those three movements leave a $3.20 reduction in your Stripe balance. Ledger Check shows the pieces so you can understand the difference.
Made-up example, not a claim about your Stripe fee rate. The checker explains the supplied records; it does not prove a bank deposit arrived or calculate your profit.

Review setup and connect StripeWhat you need to get started
- Try the example below. See the report before supplying any business records.
- Choose files or a Stripe connection. The free checker needs a CSV in the documented format. The paid service needs access to Stripe's developer settings, or help from your administrator, to create a restricted read-only key. Verify the connection before subscribing.
- Review and export. Check flagged items with your bookkeeper. Optional document automation also needs accounting mappings and a Stripe webhook: a connection that sends transaction updates.
Ledger Check does not move money, issue refunds, file taxes or replace your accountant. Keep the original Stripe invoices. PDF copies are accounting copies, not newly issued legal invoices.

The example is already loaded using made-up records. Review the result below, or choose your own file. No sign-in is needed.
1. Choose your records
The free CSV checker accepts the documented balance-transaction template below, not every Stripe export format. Required columns: id, type, currency, amount, fee, net. Optional: source, status, livemode, account. Map other export headings before importing. Use one account and one mode per file.
Supported currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, KRW, BHD, KWD, OMR. Limit: 5 MB / 10,000 rows. Explicitly choose the account, mode and money format; CSV without those identifiers cannot prove its origin.
Optional: compare invoices and charges
Provide both files using the schemas below. Amounts use the same money format, account and mode selected above. Explicit invoice IDs link the records; no fuzzy customer matching is performed.
Invoices: id,currency,amount_paid,amount_remaining,status. Charges: id,invoice_id,currency,amount,amount_refunded,status. Both support optional account and livemode. Use aggregate refunded amounts per charge; do not repeat the charge once per refund.
2. Follow the balance
3. Review the exceptions
What the free checker tells you
Amounts are checked using exact integer arithmetic. Identical IDs are counted once; conflicting duplicates reject the import. Currencies remain separate. “Net movement” is the change represented by these rows, not a verified account balance or profit.
The free CSV checker compares explicit invoice IDs and aggregate charge refunds. This browser-only checker does not connect to Stripe. Neither the free checker nor the paid service verifies bank settlement, issues tax invoices, assesses tax, or confirms application fulfillment. Pending funds and transfer failures are review items, not automatically accounting errors. Partial exports can omit the original transaction.
How to compare with an account balance
For a complete, consistently timed export: opening total balance + net movement = closing total balance. Include both available and pending funds and all relevant balance types. A filtered period or product subset cannot establish an account-wide balance.

Before you choose
Is this accounting software or a tax service?
It prepares and explains Stripe records. It does not replace your accounting system, determine your tax obligations or file returns. Your accountant reviews the mappings and exported entries.
Does it automatically send entries to QuickBooks?
No. You download CSV files and adapt them to your accounting software's import format. There is no direct QuickBooks posting connection.
What does the optional automation do?
After you configure the Stripe event connection, supported invoice, credit-note and payment updates create linked accounting entries. Repeated events do not post twice. Items needing classification remain flagged for review. Your Stripe account still issues invoices and handles refunds.
Are the invoice copies valid everywhere?
No universal tax-compliance claim is made. PDFs are localized accounting copies of Stripe-issued documents. Limited US and UK domestic document checks are available; other cases use accounting-copy mode. Tax filing and required national electronic-invoice formats are outside the service.
Where is my data stored?
The free checker keeps files in your browser. Paid monthly imports pass through our server into your browser; those report details are not saved in our database. Optional document automation stores encrypted document snapshots and journals for 90 days. Download records regularly for your own archive. Account data is not sent to an AI model.
What should my developer or bookkeeper read?
The import and setup guide covers file formats, Stripe permissions, supported records, accounting mappings and recovery. The account setup page lists the exact connection requirements before checkout.
